How's that for contempt for your own readers?septicislehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03369157723084834549noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3796962133576484410.post-89997112058194087692008-08-30T12:19:00.000+01:002008-08-30T12:19:00.000+01:00An important aspect of this that we should work to...An important aspect of this that we should work to highlight:

Look at how out of touch The Sun are.

They've shown a complete failure to appreciate (or even be aware of) the realities that many of their readers face.

Like a poltician who doesn't know the price of a pint of milk, only far worse, as they're passing judgement with these blinkers on.Timhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13292436411579226284noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3796962133576484410.post-86814402826603271842008-08-30T07:43:00.000+01:002008-08-30T07:43:00.000+01:00People who work for 10 hours a week (any time unde...People who work for 10 hours a week (any time under 16) can still receive Jobseekers' Allowance provided they look for another job. I gather that they may also get housing benefit & council tax benefit. Not completely sure how this works out, but I know there is a 16 hour rule...

I used to be on JSA for 4 months. No remotely sane person would actually want that sort of life, so either they can't find work or they have pathetically low aspirations, in neither case should they be vilified.

Additionally, a lot of unemployed people have a series of mental health problems, quite often undiagnosed. Going around persecuting people, thinking it makes you a hard man, is a recipe for more human misery and did I mention much higher crime?asquithhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14246701347539264295noreply@blogger.com
