Editor: Daniel Hoffmann-Gill (Beat: Showbiz)

Who the hell are you?
Me name is Daniel Hoffmann-Gill, born and raised on the mean streets of Nottingham but now a London boy; having had to move to the capital to make the next step up in my career as an actor. I've been blogging since 2002, focusing mainly on political satire, pr0n and lolcats.

What will you be writing about?
The Sun's take on all things showbiz but with a focus on its treatment of actors and their personal habits or lack thereof.

Why are you doing this?
I dislike The Sun intensely because it has a responsibility to its massive readership to present the truth on the issues that effect the UK and the world, rather than propagating myths, fiction and propaganda. Its readers use it (many people may doubt this but that's plain snobbery) as a source of knowledge and information on a wide range of issues and it's about time The Sun stepped up to the plate and acted like a newspaper, rather than as an extension of the Murdoch machine.

Why have you chosen your specific beat and/or what skills and expertise can you bring to it?
This is my home patch, not only am I an actor but I have many friends who are actors and have been on the recieiving end of brutal personal attacks and pure fiction printed without a thought for the effects upon family and friends. I'm also aware of the game that is played by those that want a piece of the tabloid action and those that don't and the tightrope that has be walked.

Welcome aboard, Daniel.

The Sun profits greatly from the misery of our entertainers.

Just like our sporting heroes, they are built up one minute and cast down the next. Neither act is a sincere one; it's just a measure taken to sell more papers.
